Baby Steps to Fitness
La Femme Active (The Active Woman) is a comprehensive prenatal fitness program dedicated to the health & well being of women during periods of preconception, prenatal, and postpartum recovery. Exercise prescriptions follow strict maternal guidelines aimed at keeping mother & baby safe, and aer modkfied based off the participants pregnancy progression or postpartum recovery. Small class fosters an intimate setting for fitness, allowing for maternal support from prenatal peers, and provides the participant with a professional level of supervision through guided exercise.
Monthly ongoing registration consists of 8 classes held 2x a week for 4 weeks. Classes are safe for women to join during any stage of pregnancy, the preconception period or postpartum recovery. 60 minute class formats follow specific design including components of cardiovascular health, resistance training, flexibility, and relaxation methodologies with an additional maternal health education portion as an adjunct to the fitness program. Goals are to rehab the core, strengthen the muscles in preparation for childbirth including the pelvic floor, and to maintain an appropriated body composition for the expectant mother.
